Officers were called to the scene on Point Clear Road near to the Cow Lane junction shortly after 6.15am yesterday, 11th August, to reports a BMW had been in a collision with a tree.

Two men from Benfleet and East London, who police believe are in their 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their families have been informed.

Police are trying to establish the circumstances leading to the collision, which they think happened at around 1.30am.

Anyone who witnesses the collision, or has dash cam footage, are asked to get in touch with police on 101, quoting incident 267 of 11th August.
