Police have released further CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with a burglary in which a 72-year-old man was attacked.
Two men armed with crowbars forced their way into a home in Langham Road, Boxted, at around 8.40pm on Friday, January 5 and assaulted the victim.
A four-figure sum of cash, sentimental jewellery and old, pre-decimal currency including sovereigns, half sovereigns, and ten and one shilling notes were taken.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and suffered bruising and pain.
Investigating officer Dc Matt Collins said: "This was a terrifying incident that has left the victim understandably very upset.
"All of his late partner’s jewellery was stolen, including a necklace with a pendant of an old two pound coin. These are priceless in terms of their huge sentimental value.
"As part of my investigation, I want to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV and I am appealing to anyone who knows who he is to please contact me."
The second man was described as white, aged 40 to 50, with a round face and of large build. He had brown greying hair and was dressed smartly.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has any information about the incident is asked to call Dc Collins at Colchester CID on 101 quoting crime reference number 42/2327/18.
