Woman punched and stamped on in violent assault

A woman has been left with a fractured skull after what police have called a "really vicious attack" in Clacton.

The victim, who is in her 30s, was assaulted by two men and a woman outside a house on The Grove at around 2.30am yesterday (11th June).

She was knocked to the ground and the attackers then punched her and stamped on her head.

Detective Sergeant Phil Terry, from Clacton CID, said: "This was a really vicious attack which has left the victim with a really serious injury.

"We believe there were a number of people in the area at the time who will have seen what happened I need them to contact my team."

It happened less than five hours after a man was robbed at knifepoint on Station Road, just a few hundred metres away. Police are not linking the incidents.

Anyone who saw the assault on The Grove - or has useful dash cam or CCTV footage - is urged to phone police on 101, quoting incident number 171 of the 11th July.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
